Scamper Torrent Hut, then out via Smyth Range and Headlong Spur.

Plan

16/11, Camp Lake Mahinapua, DOC campsite $13/night.

17/11, Walk into Scamper Torrent Hut.

18/11, Climb Mt Durwood (or sidle around), then follow Smyth Range towards Headlong Sput. Camp enroute. (Good campsite just north of The Attic at the head of Headlong Spur - Mike Glover).

2/12, Kiwi Flat Hut then road end and back to Nelson/Christchurch

1. Reverse route from Scamper Torrent Hut, or anywhere along Smyth Range.

Helmet: Optional. Mt Durwood is a Grade 1. However, we can traverse around Mt Durwood (MG). 

Handline: 30m 8mm with some slings and biners. [Will decide Thursday evening whether we take this along.]
