Description

Labour Weekend trip: Abel Tasman Inland Track from Totaranui to Marahau (unable to start at Wainui due to transport requirements).

Saturday: drive to Marahau, catch 9am water taxi from Marahau to Totaranui (2 hours, approx $47 per person).  Walk up to the Inland Track, possible side-trip up Gibbs Hill, stay night at Awapoto Hut.

Sunday: walk to Castle Rock Hut (views of Marahau Valley and Tasman Bay) via Moa Park (approx 6 hours).

Monday: walk back to Marahau via Holyoake Clearing (approx 5 1/2 hours).

Costs will include petrol, parking at Marahau (I believe this is $5 a day per car), and the water taxi.

Organise your own cooking equipment and food.
