Description  

An overnight tramp near Otira, Arthur's Pass, just over 3 1/2 hours drive from Nelson. Start from Kelly Creek carpark and follow track up Kelly Creek to Hunt Saddle at 807m (around 4 hours walking). Then a short walk to Hunts Creek Hut and basin 1 hour. The track up is slow going and from the saddle is boggy. It is a nice area around the hut and with a long valley basin with mountains along the sides and at the head of the basin.Tents will need to be carried (4 bunk hut).We will most likely go down Friday night and stay in Reefton or Nelson Creek camp ground.
