Saturday Starting from the Maitai Dam follow the track up past the Rush Pool and the argillite quarry, where Maori sourced adzes, to Dew Lakes on the ridgeline. From here it's NE over Mt Maungatapu (1014m) to Maungatapu Saddle, then back down Maungatapu track to the cars. About 20km with 1000m climb. Map Series: Topo50 BQ26
