Description
Starts from the east side of Lake Kaniere, inland from Hokitika. Climb 3-5 hours on a good track to Mt Brown Hut (no charge) at 1120m, enjoying good views of the Southern Alps, and the coast. Sunday morning: romp around the snowy tops, before returning the same way. Note: Leaving Nelson at crack of dawn, or driving down Friday evening.
