Description  

Saturday: Drive about 3 hours to Staircase Road (4WD required) and walk one hour to Lake Chalice Hut (standard hut ticket). Explore around Lake Chalice which was formed when a slip dammed the valley. The lake flows underground through the slip and emerges as a spring about 500m from the lake.

Sunday: Walk back to the carpark and drive a little further up the road, then climb Mt Patriarch (1656m). About 8km one way from the road end at about 1200m.
