Description
Day 1, drive to Brown hut, tramp in to Aorere Shelter and camp, 11km, 425m. Day 2, Climb Brown Hill with day packs, 300m, to explore for signs of the old Govt track followed by Fred Gibbs in 1887. Magnificent views. Return to Brown Hut via Aorere Shelter and Heaphy Track. DoC Camp bookings required. Under 18yrs - free. Adult $12.20.
