| For our annual longer midsummer tramp the plan is to replicate the fun 2022/23 tramp we did over the Lockett & Peel ranges. This means tramping in a wide arc on the ridges around the Cobb Reservoir starting at the dam and ending at Trilobite hut. Our current plan is to take 7 days (6 nights), which is 1 more day than we did in 2022/23. That day we would spend at the tarn above Fenella hut and give us time to climb Kakapo peak without our full packs. Probable camping places: Lake Lockett - Ruby Lake - Tarn for 2 nights - Big tree at Lake Cobb – Camp Lake. This will be a camping trip.More precise planning will take place closer to the date. The tramp will allow for some flexibility for those who cannot come the whole week as there are multiple places where one can descend from the ridges to the valley.Maaike will be the provisional trip organizer.
