This loop track around the northern face of Pourangahau/Mount Robert offers spectacular views over Lake Rotoiti.

This well-formed circuit combines the steep well graded Pinch gut track which zigzags up the steep bare face of Pourangahau before entering beech forest.

After climbing for 1 and a half hours you reach the bush edge where the forest gives way to alpine herbs and shrubs.

The track then continues across the open ridge top and Paddy's track takes you past bushline hut and back down to the road.

Registration

It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
