Description

This tramp is in honour of the first tramp ever organised by the Nelson Tramping Club in June 1934! You can learn/read about the history of the Nelson Tramping club in the book "Trailblazers" that will be launched on the day before this tramp (Saturday 30-5-26), the day before this Third House Tramp. The original Third House was used as accomodation for workers and horses involved in the Dun Mountain but those buildings have disappeared. Now it is a shelter.It will be an out and back tramp instead of a loop as nowadays we cannot simply cross the Brook Sanctuary. Distance: close to 20km and elevation gain (and loss!) about 500 m.

Registration

It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
