Description
Lees Creek is one of the prettiest valleys in the region and we last went there 3 years ago. We will head up the Rainbow Road through the locked gate just past the skifield road (gate fee to be paid). Park up by the swing bridge to cross the Wairau river and head up the valley on a good track. Depending on time, energy and weather, we will camp by the Lees Creek hut (4 bunks; 8-9 km)) or go a bit further up the valley on the tussock flats. Early start on Sunday morning to go further up the valley and into the East branch. Explore the upper basins above the waterfall towards the Raglan Range tops before returning to camp. After lunch we up-pack, down-valley to get back to the vehicles. Map Series: BS25 Severn
