| NOTE: This TUKU-26 event was postponed until the books have been published. NEW DATE: Saturday 30 March. TIME: 2:00pm. Book Lauch:TRAILBLAZERS: A History of the Nelson Tramping Club (1934-2026). This is a TUKU 26 event, sponsored by Nelson City Council. This is the story of a bunch of Nelsonians exploring their backyard, and in the process, finding joy, adventure and camaraderie. Among the day-walks and epic climbs, are tales of aircraft crashes, missing trampers, ballroom dances, inter-club rivalry, as well as the building and maintenance of a dozen backcountry huts. 92 years later, these trampers are still making tracks and restoring huts. Ray Salisbury will present this new book, showing historic & modern photos. His previous books include TABLELAND: The History behind Mt Arthur, and EPIC: Adventures Across Aotearoa. Where: Activities Room, Elmer Turner Library, Nelson city. When: 2pm-3pm Date: Saturday 30 May 2026 Cost: Free Books for sale/ordered at the event (limited quantity at $35.00 each), given a RRP of $40 each. A pre-publication sale of this book is now being offered to past and present club members at a very competitive rate. The pre-publication price is $30. If you wish to purchase a copy at the pre-publication price please make payment to the NTC account as you would for paying your annual sub.
