Sharlands Bush Reserve is an area of 39 hectares set aside to presevre an attractive block of native bush in Hira Forest.  It was promoted by NCC as an attractive destination back in 1999 wne the first "Walk Nelson" guide was produced, But fpr the last 10 yeras os so access has been very restricted to everyone except NMTB. Under the new NCC agreement with the Hira Forest Owner and NMTB, this area is again accessible, so let's check it out and see what it looks like.( A preliminary check suggests some very nicebush and expensive views from the top. { I have listed the tramp as easy, but it is probably Easy/Medium. There are formed tracks but possibly a bit slippery in places witha climb of 200+m.

Registration

It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
