Description
What better place is there to observe the Matariki cluster of stars than at Sylvester Hut at dawn? As well as star gazing, explore the Cob area from the hut base. Possibilities - Iron Hill, Asbestos Cottage on day in or day out. Other options to be explored, please make suggestions.
Day 1 - walk up to Sylvester Hut then out to Lake Sylvester, Little Sylvester and Iron Lake. return to Hut.
Day 2 undecided - Note will be put in Syl Hut book.
Day 3 - Walk back to dam and travel bak down road to Asbestos Cottage track. In to Asbestos Cottage and return on same track.
Hut Fees - Serviced Hut - $25 per night - orange Hut tickets
