From Maitai dam we take the Dun Mountain trail, heading to Dun Mtn Saddle and Dun Shelter for lunch. Still a small climb from Lunch to 1129M of Dun Mtn before dropping to a saddle to Little Twin. Over Little Twin (1143M) and along an interesting beech forest ridge to Dew lakes. Return to the cars via Rush pools and the Pakohe (argillite) quarry site. This is a long trip 19km approx 1150M elevation gain. |
