As a result of the weather forecast, this trip is changed to a day trip only on Sunday. Bring wetsuits if you have, suitable shoes to walk on rocks in the river, and goggle and snorkel if you have. Bug spray is also recommended, along with suntan cream. Sunday we will leave Nelson early: 7.30am and blow up our tyres at Rai valley along the way. Drive up the Pelorus river to the end of the road / parking for the start of the track and do a float part way down the river. Probably about 1 - 1.5 hrs on the river, so we can take it in turns if we don't have enough tubes for everyone. If there is time, we can walk/swim up one of the side tributries that looks inviting on a summers day. We will need support drivers if you wish for a day out but not to float down the river. |

It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
