Note: December 9: No interest received for this trip. Weather forecast for the weekend not good.
Saturday
Meet at Richmond and meet Mike (me) either at Tadmor or at home. Make our way to the crossing point of Wangapeka River to Chummies Track. We leave our vehicles here.
Sunday
We have two options; reverse our previous days route, or use Gibbs Route. Gibbs Route requires gaining the ridge and traveling west for a couple of kilometres, basically the next spur along from John Reid Hut.
We may decide to drop a vehicle at the end of the Wangapeka Track. This will save us a 3 km walk along the road on Sunday.
Covid-19

Masks must be worn in shared vehicles. Please stay home if you have any cold or flu symptoms.

If my 4WD vehicle is required for crossing the Dart River, then only fully vaxed will be carried.
- I am seeking clarification regarding hut protocol. I understand DOC are currently working on these details.
