Christmas BBQ on Rabbit Island - combined event with Waimea Tramping club

Saturday 18th December (if raining postponed to Sunday 19th December). RSVP not necessary ... just turn up ... car pooling is desirable.

The BBQ will be a luncheon affair for the family. Once again, we’ll have a fun rogaining team event before the BBQ so put on your activewear if you want to get involved. After lunch we will have the cricket challenge between NTC & WTC. I am told it used to be an annual challenge (with a floating trophy) up until about 2002.... then ??? The trophy hasn't yet been located, but I understand it is in the pocession of a NTC member...?

Anyway, it goes something like this ...

Place: Manuka Picnic area (see map here ; BBQs are shared so we may have to move to another if it is too busy)

Times:

Rogaining: Meet, dressed and ready to go, at 11am

BBQ lunch: 1pm

What to bring:

For the carnivores … meat to BBQ

Dishes to share (salads, snacks, deserts)

Drinks (alcohol is allowed)

Plates, cups, cutlery (not advisable to bring glass)

Umbrella, Gazebo … for shade

Sunscreen
