Join us at the Tahunanui Community Hub (55 Muritai Street). Doors open at 7:30pm for a cuppa, presentation starts at 7:45pm. Gold coin donation for hall hire. Visitors welcome. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 7:30pm as another group has the hall booked before us – thank you for your understanding. Meet for social cup of tea before out guest speakers from Friends of Flora. Sandy & Robin Toy are passionate about conserving Kahurangi National Park and have been actively involved with the volunteer group Friends of Flora since 2010. Their recently published book Caring for Kahurangi, the inspiring story of Friends of Flora was awarded the 2026 New Zealand Mountain and Adventure Heritage Award. In it they describe the journey of Friends of Flora, weaving tales of volunteer adventures, rigorous science and magical encounters into an inspiring odyssey of what can be achieved with great commitment, drive and friendship. Sandy & Robin will bring this story to the Nelson Tramping Club in an entertaining talk beautifully illustrated with stunning images from acclaimed photographer Ruedi Mosimann.
