| Mount Luna (1630m) rises to the northeast of Wangapeka Saddle in southern Kahurangi National Park.A 3-day circuit can be made from Kiwi Saddle Hut, over Mt Luna to Stone Hut, then back via the Wangapeka Track.We plan to stay in huts. Kiwi Saddle Hut (6 bunks) and possibly Stone Hut (10 bunks) ... it's weather dependant. If we climb Mt Luna and return to Kiwi Saddle Hut, a climb of Mt Patriarch is also possible.A high level of fitness is required, along with off-track tramping experience. It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
