This is the story of a bunch of Nelsonians exploring their big backyard, and in the process, finding joy, adventure and camaraderie.

Among the day-walks and epic climbs are tales of aircraft crashes, missing trampers, ballroom dances, conservation battles and inter-club rivalry. From the get-go until the present, NTC has built and maintained a dozen backcountry huts, as well as being at the heart of local search and rescue events.
