DESCRIPTION:Stay at Kaihoka Farm stay Homestead. Do day walks in the surounding hills. 
 Very close to Wharariki Beach, 25min drive from Collingwood. There are vari
 ous tramping options that differ in length and difficulty. We have booked t
 he Homestead on Kaihoka Farm. Sleeps 16, in various bedrooms and 2 lounges.
  Good place to stay and be cosy at night while days are getting shorter. Se
 lf catering, kitchen available. I have not stayed and walked there, but the
  Waimea Club have. So, I trust there are enough long walks ;)We ll leave Fr
 iday morning, to make to most of it. Even if we can't check in by lunchtime
 , we can go walking. Also, we ll walk on Sunday before driving home in the 
 late afternoon, early evening. Those having to work on Friday can still dri
 ve over after work and join us in the evening. Please indicate what time yo
 u can leave on Friday when you register. There is also an option to walk th
 e nearby Puponga/Wharariki Beach track as a crossover on Friday or Sunday. 
 About 10km, 4hrs or much more, depending on beach time. Extensions possible
 , e.g Greenhills loop. We might get wet feet at some stage, so bring spare 
 shoes or trekking sandals. Low tide at Wharariki is at 2.37pm on Friday, 3.
 24pm Saturday, and 4.12pm Sunday.Price is $25 pp per night. Or less, depend
 ing on numbers. Bring sleeping bags and towels. There is a fully equipped k
 itchen. 2 lounge areas, a shower and bath. Once you register, you are commi

 e and all start at Puponga) Hilltop walk. Undulating 10km, fab views, 10km,
  4 - 5 hrs depending on extras and beach/pup time.Most likely wet feet at t
 he Wharariki end, river crossing before the beach. Low tide at 14.37.Drive 
 to Kaihoka Farm, walk 40min OW to beach, if enough time left.Saturday: Walk
  on farm tracks up Mt Lunar, explore  rock formations (half day).Lunch at f
 arm house, then option to explore the bluffs of the neighbours farm in sear
 ch of a Hudson Bomber crashed in 1941, (I got their permission to walk ther
 e) and/or walk the scenic Kaihoka lakes and/or back to beach for sunset...w
 hatever time allows. Joyce, the farm owner will tell us about all options o
 n Friday night.Sunday: Drive to Collingwood and climb Mt Burnett on a 4WD T
 rack, 641m, about 4.5 hrs return. Great views.Then home (after a stop at th
