DESCRIPTION:<p>Drive to Murchison and on up the Matakitaki Road to Maruia Saddle (580m)
 . Proceed to walk on a marked route through the beech forest up to the bush
 line (track not maintained by DOC for some years). The track traverses acro
 ss tussock tops and takes us to the summit of Mt Mantell (1606m). Splendid 
 views all round. Then back from whence we came with a coffee stop in Murch.
  There may be snow above 1200m so ice-axes should be carried.</p><p></p> <a
