esigning a 192-page social history of the Mt Arthur Tableland. Potton &
Burton have done an excellent job in refining this coffee table book into

or the Tableland: he is a direct descendant of the first Motueka Valley pio
neer, John Park Salisbury, whose brother discovered gold on the Tabl
eland in 1863. John pioneered the grazing of sheep on the Tableland and on
the adjacent Cobb River flats, where he built the first huts.
