A s hort walk along the fence will bring us to Toutouwai gate which we can exit and have a break at Third House. Going back into the Sanctuary we will fol low a bush trail just in from the fence till we come to Tuatara Spur (some ups and downs). Tuatara Spur is my favourite exit back to the Sanctuary VC. Along this spur where it is rocky are masses of the NZ Easter orchid Earin a autumnbalis - which should be in flower.
