SUMMARY:Sylvia Tops, Lewis Pass
URL;VALUE=URI:https://live.nelsontrampingclub.org.nz/events/1569/sylvia-tops,-lewis-pass?
 tmpl=component
DESCRIPTION:Note: We have postponed the trip for one week due to the weather.   The tra
 vel to the Nina Valley bridge/ Palmers Lodge is now scheduled for Saturday
 the 31st Jan and coming back on Sunday 1st Feb. From the Palmers Lodge park
 ing area we would start the 3hr walk up the Nina Valley/River to the hut.Th
 e next track section, in parts steep, continues through beech forest toward
 s the Devilskin Saddle. We will stop short of the saddle at the bushline an
 d camp at the old hut site. No idea how many camp/tent spots there are and
 I could not find any info about it.The next morning we would continue to th
 e saddle and turn east walking up through scree and scrub/tussock to PT1625
 . Traversing the Tops offers promising views and looks reasonably straightf
 orward in good conditions.The steep descent at the end of the ridge leads u
 s back to the Nina River for the crossing and a soaking for our overheated
 feet. This event was imported from: https://live.nelsontrampingclub.org.nz/
