DESCRIPTION:We start by visiting the Glenhope Railway station alongside SH6. Thanks to 
 head ranger Daryl, I have a key to get in. This doesn't involve much walkin
 g but its interesting to see inside the 1912 building.\nNext is 6 mile hydo
  station in the Matakitaki Valley. Again, I have a key from DoC. We visit t
 he generating building dating from 1922 followed by a walk up the intake le
 at and on to a lake that is no longer. 5.2km\nThen we move on to 8 mile cre
 ek where a walkway goes to a lake after a climb through wonderful bush. 4km
 \nLastly we do the Skyline Walk, the biggest climb of the day at 237m, 3.4k
 m with great views over what was Hampden but is now Murchison.\nA longish d
