DESCRIPTION:<p>This was to be a trip to Mt Evans, but DOC does not maitain this track a
 ny longer and reports it is overgrown. Instead we will do the Wainui circui
 t. From Canaan Downs car park head up to Wainui Saddle. We will likely dive
 rt to Moa Park shelter for morning tea before returning to the Evans ridge.
  We walk along Evans ridge till the turnoff to Wainui valley and have a ste
 ep descent to Wainui Hut where we will have lunch. From Wainui Hut it is 1.
 5hrs back to the cars. Total Elevation gain 350M. Distance 15km</p> <a href
