DESCRIPTION:<p>There are two possible options depending on weather and interest:</p><ol
 ><li>Fit day trip to Mt Patriarch III direct out of the Wangapeka. From Rol
 ling River car park take the main Wangapeka Track until just past where Pat
 riarch Creek comes in. Cross the Wangapeka river and proceed up through the
  forest on a spur above and West of P. Creek. When at the bushline, move ac
 ross and up a basin to under Mt Patriarch. A last steep scramble brings us 
 to the summit of P III. Splendid views to Patriarch II and I, and across th
 e Wangapeka to the Mt Owen massif. Back down the way we came, or down to Ki
 wi Saddle and out via the valley track.</li><li>Medium two day trip to Kiwi
  Saddle Hut and Patriarch I. As for 1 but continue on the Wangapeka Track t
 o the swing bridge just before Kings Hut. Up Kiwi Stream on a good track to
  Kiwi Saddle Hut (6 bunks). In the morning, climb Mt Patriarch (1700m) from
  the ridge route. Return to the hut for packs and on down the track back to
