DESCRIPTION:<p>NTC Snow Skills training @ Robert Lodge 2021.</p><p>POSTPONED from Augus
 t to September DUE TO COVID. Hoping we are in L2 lockdown &amp; can be a gr
 oup of 30 people in the mountain hut together.&nbsp;</p><p>Preference will 
 be given to club members...</p><p>Hopefully enough snow to experience snow 
 skills training in this wonderful environment, otherwise just an excise to 
 get out into them mountains and stay in a warm comfy enviroment after lockd
 own.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Walk in to Robert Lodge early Saturday, and st
 ay the night. Kerosene heating, gas cooking with pots, pans, cutlery &amp; 
 crockery provided in the lodge, but no showers. Solar power now installed b
 ut bring your head torch. Toilets are flushed by bucket. Bring your own toi
 let paper.</p><p>Training will be in the basin in front of the Lodge, or we
  can walk in the area if we want to travel further.</p><p class="MsoNormal"
 >Self catered, but some may wish to pool their food for Saturday evening. T
 he fee for Robert Lodge is $20, additional to the transport charge. Maximum
  capacity of Robert Lodge is 30. If the weather forecast is dire, the trip 
 will be postponed.</p><p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;The object of the training
  is to;</p><ul><li>hone existing snow skills or develop them if you are new
  to snow travel using gear.</li><li>practice movement on different types an
 d gradients of snow slopes.</li><li>gain confidence in what is comfortably 
 doable and avoiding what is not.</li><li>practice self-arresting technique 
 in varying conditions.</li><li>snow travel using walking poles will also be
  covered.</li><li>Possibly build an igloo or snow cave..</li></ul><p>For th
 ose of you who are experienced snow trampers, come along to enjoy the compa
 ny of other like-minded trampers and share your experience of snow tramping
 . Youngsters welcome...</p><p>Anyone able to recite or read poetry for the
