DESCRIPTION:<p>Day 1 - Drive towards Murchison and park at the carpark of the Matiri &n
 bsp;Valley road. Walk to Lake Matiri hut and continue up to the 1000 Acres 
 plateau to the NEW Poor Pete's hut which has just recently been installed b
 y DOC. Camping recommended as the new hut has only 2 bunks.</p> <p>Day 2 - 
 Follow the poled route across the plateau towards Larrikins Creek hut and c
 limb the South ridge of The Haystack (1526m). Return to camp and then back
