5 day 4 nights. Plan to do this well known walk, starting from Hackett and climbing Mt Starvaal for first nights stay. Following days - Old Man Hut, Rintoul Hut, Tarn Hut or Mid Wairoa 4th night, and out on the 5th day. Restricted number - 4 or 5. Hopefully Te Araroa walkers will have dwindled by this date. Not a trip to be done in marginal weather, so dates may vary depending on the weather ie would suit the retired or those who can give short notice of leave. I personally will black out 10 days from the start date with a view that somewhere in those 10 days we will have a good weather window. |

It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
