DESCRIPTION:ANZAC weekend:\nSaturday: From Caplestown car park walking to Kirwans Hut (
 1280m). There is a steady 1080 m climb to Kirwans Hut near the bushline (6 
 hrs). \nKirwans Hut: This is now a booked hut. *** Backcountry Pass is acce
 pted but bunks must be booked on-line - talk to Pat ***.\nSunday: Climb Kir
 wans Hill with views over the Victoria Range (1.5hr return).  Proceed on th
 e main track down the Montgomerie River passing old mining areas and relics
 . Montomerie Hut (6b) is at the confluence with the Waitahu River (5hrs).\n
 Monday: Follow the Waitahu River track down to Gannons Rd bridge. Then asce
 nd a short steep track and 4wd roads to the Caplestown carpark. (6-7hrs)\nO
