DESCRIPTION:<p>ANZAC weekend:</p><p>Saturday: From Caplestown car park walking to Kirwa
 ns Hut (1280m). There is a steady 1080 m climb to Kirwans Hut near the bush
 line (6 hrs).&nbsp;</p><p>Kirwans Hut: This is now a booked hut. *** Backco
 untry Pass is accepted but bunks must be booked on-line - talk to Pat ***.<
 /p><p>Sunday: Climb Kirwans Hill with views over the Victoria Range (1.5hr 
 return).&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 1em; caret-color: auto;">&nbsp;Procee
 d on the main track down the Montgomerie River passing old mining areas and
  relics. Montomerie Hut (6b) is at the confluence with the Waitahu River (5
 hrs).</span></p><p>Monday: Follow the Waitahu River track down to Gannons R
 d bridge. Then ascend a short steep track and 4wd roads to the Caplestown c
