DESCRIPTION:A leisurely wander in to Wainui Hut for an overnight camping trip. This tri
 p is kid friendly and we will be bringing our heavy 2.5 year old along carr
 ying him so we won't be moving fast. \nThe valley is forested in beautiful 
 beech forest, and the track runs parallel to the mossy-banked Wainui River,
  which gradually increases in flow with distance down the valley. There are
  several un-bridged creeks that are tricky to cross without getting wet fee
 t.\n5.6km both ways in and out. \n\nWainui Hut is positioned in a grassy cl
 earing a short distance from Wainui River. Given the relatively low number 
 of overnight visitors, the hut is only equipped with four bunks, TENTS ARE 
 MANDATORY!\n \nThose who want a bit more of a challenge can extend the trip
  with a loop out over the ridge on the way in or out. \nI will carry a PLB 
 and happily guide the way but there will be an expectation that groups and 
 participants will be self-sufficient as I will be busy looking after my bus
