The Sanctuary is open for visitors but we will take a more extensive walk in some remote, less visited parts of this wonderful fenced eco-reserve. Enjoy the beautiful bush including mature podocarps, red beech, fern groves and orchids. The wild Brook Stream. And the birds! - there are steadilly increasing numbers of many of our native species. The walk will be about 12 km on tracks and monitoring lines with 550 metres height gain/loss. Bring lunch, parka etc.. Light-weight boots ok but possible wet feet depending on flow in the Brook. The BWS entry fee is $8 (free entry to BWS Supporters - $50 annual). No transport fee. Meet 10am at BWS Visitor Centre (upper Brook Street, through camping ground). It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
