The Hartebreak ridge to Totara Saddle part of this track hadsrecently been cleared and marked as an initiative of the club and largely done by Ian Morris.

Access is off the Whispering Falls Track, going up a steep ridge between the Miner River and Mineral stream to point 447, around P530 Via "Ian's diversion" to a flattish area we have named Beerbottle flat. From here we enter the beech forest and proceed at a more gentle incline till the last steep grunt up to the Rocks Hut - Totara Saddle track. At Totara Saddle we go to Browning hut then out via Hacket Hut. There will be wet feet crossing Hacket Creek on the Whispering Falls track and again coming down from Browning to Hacket hut . This is a relatively long day trip.

It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
